One Love…One Heart. Preview of PAPAYA! summer debuts 2015, by founder, Anahata Katkin.
Las Vegas showroom ended up having a lovely palette. And the PAPAYA! design team worked to make the showroom come to life. Using hand applied stencils on the floor and geometric paint on the walls, the boring box took on a new PAPAYA! life, complete with disco ball planter! We’re all moved in and ready to welcome you again in July, 2015 for the Las Vegas Market, in the Las Vegas World Market Center. So mark your calendars. (this is a trade-only event)
We’ve been away so long! And there’s so much to share. Since the winter season we’ve opened our very first showrooms. This has been a wonderful process for all of us. And it feels really good to have a place to call our own and let our collections shine. In the 12 years we’ve been following our dreams, we’ve made over 1,000 products independently. It was time to celebrate them in a new showcase.
After turning the corner post-Halloween, November feels so welcome here. The sun is out in Southern Oregon and the chilly weather feels just right. Around here we’re cocooning in ideas and plans for the New Year. Our entire team is working behind the scenes on new product categories and some amazing new PAPAYA! showrooms that will be debuting in January 2015. So stay tuned. The preparing before the winter Solstice feels like a mighty good time to get the job done. How are you feeling as you hunker in for winter? Happy November out there…
Many of you have heard that two of our PAPAYA! owners Gina Katkin and Eli Katkin teamed up to open BRICKROOM. A beautiful, extensively renovated, cafe and bar in the heart of Ashland, Oregon. A gathering house directly upstairs from our flagship boutique, PAPAYA! Living. So naturally we’re pretty excited to have a beautiful new venue and in turn Brickroom has access to all the PAPAYA! designers and team. A nice exchange for all of us! (check out interior design and painting posts here) This awesome poster was created by Sarah Shearer who manages our PAPAYA! design dept and occasionally doubles as a bonified poster maker. And we think this poster is so fun! If you’re a Southern Oregon local please come and check out Brickroom on Halloween. It’s also their first night adding the music layer to the venue since their recent opening. There will be lost more of that in the coming months too. See you on Halloween in your best look.
Good morning dreamers, makers and shakers. It already feels like theres a little extra buzz around the turning of the tides, and moving into 2015. Maybe it’s the “blood moon” we just had or maybe it’s the changing seasons? But the desire to think ahead and make room for new goals and ideas is high on everyones list. This year we have six weekly planners, four dateless books, three desk calendars and three different wall calendar designs for 2015. Few! That’s a lot of planning. (Pssst: You busy Boutique Makers, now is the time to place your orders for the holiday season.) Our weekly planners have full color interiors with artwork on every page to make the daily grind a little more inspiring. It’s all just a stones throw of days away now. (Pictured here: “Answers” Weekly Planner, “Plan Big” Pocket Planner.)
We’ve been on Instagram a lot these days. If you haven’t made the switch from Facebook to Instagram, we are here to encourage you to take the plunge. And if you haven’t found us there yet, come visit. You can also follow PAPAYA! co-founder, Anahata Katkin to see more behind-the-scenes and sneak peeks. Or visit our PAPAYA! Living boutique, instagram page for updates on whats happening in store.
Just a few days left of Virgo Season. Happy Harvest…
Yep, We’re hiring! If you’re fun loving– but go getting… If you’re truly good with people, you like serving a bigger vision and you can easily get down with the nitty-gritty details of what that means… If you’re not afraid of new places and even less afraid of paperwork and software… we might have a place for you to feel right at home. We think we’re a pretty great place to work. We offer comprehensive benefits, a casual and accountable workplace, a lunch chef named Margaret, competitive wages, and warehouse scooters. We’re looking for long range people who fit the bill.
It’s Virgo Season! Feeling the buzz? We are. Getting things in order, organizing and group priorities are high on our list. We’re making plans, thinking big and energizing our office thinking. What about you? Maybe it’s the late summer, harvest mood that’s got us squirreling around to make sure our winter ahead feels the way we want it to.
Sometimes it’s the little things that we love. Our PAPAYA! Mini Books are beautiful, tiny pocket notebooks for just about anything. Mini Books come in 48 (!) different paintings and designs and cost little more than a greeting card. Printed on beautiful matte papers and stitch-binding, with lines for writing. 3.5 X 5.5 inches.
So wonderful! A friend sent our designer this shot of a lovely article about our town, Ashland, Oregon in the Sepetmeber issue of Sunset Magazine. The article has a great photo and shout-out to our flagship boutique, PAPAYA! Living. Such an honor. Our design team has been long time fans of this iconic magazine- which has only gotten better in recent years. If you haven’t looked them up lately, you should. Thank you Sunset for visiting and sharing our boutique.
PAPAYA! Tassel Pouches have been so popular in the past couple of years that we have had many requests for new styles of take-me-with-you accessories. These pretty little wristlets are perfect for on the go essentials like keys, credit cards, cell phone and chapstick. Four new styles to choose from with inner dividers and handy wrist strap. You can see them right here.
These little beauties are a PAPAYA! favorite. And there’s lots of reasons we’re proud of them too! Our Spiral Notebooks have cleverly designed inner pages that shuffle through several different styles, sturdy hard covers, gold spiral binding and artwork that can lift your day. We have 13 different notebooks to choose from too. Pretty up your workspace or help them get excited about science notes. Either way it’s a win win.
Can you believe it? Yes, already time to start collecting what the they need to get back in the game. Whether you are packing kindergarten lunches or prepping grown ones for college, there’s a bit of planning involved to help them feel organized and even special. A few simple extras can help your sweet hearts feel loved on their first big day. (There’s time to get it all done without stressing still. From one mom to another.) We’ve have lots of ideas like these insulated Lunch Bags. Tassel Pouches make perfect pencil cases, and travel companions. And there’s of course all our desk accessories like Weekly Planners, Sticky Note Sets , and favorite Spiral Notebooks. Dorm decor like our positive Art Prints too… Enjoy the rest of your family summer and check us out for the Back to School, nesting season. Xoxoxo…
