I lost my old papaya wallet (Anaïs Nin poem) and so I ordered this beautiful graphic one to replace it.
Pros: the graphic is beautiful and printed on the same durable fabric i remember that aged beautifully. The inner tag is the same high quality woven material. The lining material seems to be a durable lamé, I was worried it might peel over time from looking at the photos, but touching it in person I doubt that will be an issue.
Cons- the quality of the wallet overall in terms of construction is not what I was expecting/am used to from Papaya. One side is not stitched straight, although with a handmade item I expect this to some extent. However, my main worry is that there is a rather large gap at the end of the zipper. I like to keep emergency tylenol and Bobby pins in my wallet- there’s no way I could do that with this one. They’d fall out immediately. I wouldn’t care that much, but further reviewing the photos shows that the example wallets do not have this gap. Well, hopefully it is just a fluke considering the pictured wallets do not have this flaw. As always, the art is beautiful.
