Fireweed - A Love Letter
FIREWEED flowers are our tribute flower. They are part of our history. Fireweed flowers can grow as tall as a woman. They are often found growing as community fields over burnt or damaged earth. They heal and restore the land after it's been ravaged...bringing a field of fuchsia blooms to nourish and bolster. They love harsh and cold climates and thrive in boreal forests in Central Alaska where founders Anahata & Gina Katkin lived and grew up. Fireweed flowers can inspire loved ones with a balmy energy to soothe and protect with gentleness, while also fortifying and grounding.
Our FIREWEED stationery and accessory line is a celebration of the botanical matrix. Flower and plant specimens have been lovingly suspended in time through the art of pressing and drying. Pulling inspiration from the arts n' crafts movement of the 70s, the Victorian Era archives, Floriography and fond personal memories. FIREWEED is a modern day, interpretative revival of a centuries old tradition based on raw and heartfelt illustrations by artist and co-founder, Anahata Katkin.
